---

Ingredients

For the Tostones (Twice-Fried Plantains):

2 large green plantains

2 tbsp vegetable oil

½ tsp salt

For the Beef Topping:

½ lb beef steak (ribeye or sirloin), finely diced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp ground cumin

½ tsp smoked paprika

For the Green Salsa:

2 tomatillos, diced

½ small onion, finely chopped

1 small jalapeño, finely chopped

¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

½ tsp salt

Juice of 1 lime

---

Instructions

1. Prepare the Tostones:

Peel the plantains and cut them into 1-inch thick rounds.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry plantain rounds for about 3 minutes per side until lightly golden.

Remove from oil and gently flatten each piece with a cup or a tostonera.

Return to the pan and fry again for 2 minutes per side until crispy.

Sprinkle with salt and set aside.

2. Cook the Beef:

Heat olive oil in a skillet.

Add diced beef and season with salt, black pepper, cumin, and smoked paprika.

Cook until browned, tender, and full of flavor.

3. Make the Green Salsa:

In a bowl, combine tomatillos, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, salt, and lime juice.

Mix well and let sit for a few minutes so the flavors can blend beautifully.

4. Assemble the Tostones Rellenos:

Top each tostone with a spoonful of cooked beef and a generous dollop of green salsa.

5. Serve & Enjoy:

Serve immediately while crispy, with extra lime wedges on the side.

Pro Tip: Sprinkle with crumbled queso fresco for a creamy, salty touch!

Perfect For:

Parties, appetizers, family dinners, or any time you crave a crunchy, flavor-packed snack!
