Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage & Broccoli

Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage & Broccoli

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or quinoa, for serving
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.

2. Sauté the Sausage

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until nicely browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3. Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, add the shrimp. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside with the sausage.

4. Sauté the Broccoli

Add the broccoli florets to the same skillet. Sauté for about 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add a splash of water if needed to help steam the broccoli.

5. Combine and Finish

Return the cooked sausage and shrimp to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over everything. Toss gently to coat, and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

6. Serve

Serve hot over cooked rice or quinoa. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro if desired. Enjoy!

Notes:

  • This dish is quick, flavorful, and ideal for busy weeknights.
  • The sweet and savory honey garlic sauce pairs perfectly with the shrimp, sausage, and broccoli.
  • Feel free to customize by adding other vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or mushrooms!
